Buffalo

(Syncerus caffer)

One of our big five. This animal is extremely dangerous and aggresive. The Cape Buffalo typically weighs up to three-quarters of a ton. They have very good eyesight, smell and hearing. These animals prefer to stick to thick bush during the day. Both male and female buffalo carry horns. Cows however dont have a boss. The bulls are distinctively bigger built with a big boss and thicker horns. 

The Hunt:

Buffalo hunt consist of tracking the animal and stalking it. Large caliber rifles like .404 and .458 are most effective.
