Duiker
(Subfamily Cephalophinae)
This buck is derived from the Dutch word “duik” which means to dive. They are most active early evening and late afternoon. Only the males carry horns. It does happen that females occasionaly are found with horns but they are considerably smaller.
The Hunt:
Difficult to hunt . They keep to the long grass or thick bush.
Preferred caliber .2250 or .243.
