(Oreotragus oreotragus)

Known as the “balerina of the rocks”. They have an amazing agility to jump from rock to rock and race up sheer cliff faces.  One of  Africas small five.  (Bush duiker, grysbok, steenbok, oribi being the other 4)

They are well adapted to harsh and dry conditions.  When alarmed they make a loud, shrill whistle sound.  Only the males carry horns. Females tend to be a bit bigger and heavier.

The Hunt:

Look for them at rocky areas and follow them until they stop.  They are in the habit to stop and look back ever so often.  Preferred caliber of . 223 or.22
